Nearly 1 out of 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect and 50% of these babies will require at least one invasive surgery.
My Reuben has bravely weathered two open heart surgeries, at aged 3 months and at aged almost 5 thanks to the miraculously healing hands of surgeons at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and at UCLA Hospital for whom we are eternally grateful.
