Wee Laura Ann, the most mature 23 year old you can ever hope to meet. I'm truly inspired by both hers and Michael's wonderful gesture for Reuben regarding the christening of their own son, Aiden. Laura's family have been through impossibly difficult times themselves in recent years and I know my Auntie Catherine, Laura's nan, and her own dear father, my cousin Iain, will be looking down from Heaven on Laura with such sweet smiles, overwhelmingly proud.
I thought long and hard about whether it was right to put this on Reuben's blog, but it is a part of his journey and a testament to Laura and Michael's kindness and indeed, the kindness we've received from so many throughout Reuben's 18 weeks of life. Laura's letter to the invitees of the christening reads as follows:

We would prefer that anyone who was planning to buy Aiden a Christening gift would make a donation for the health care of baby Reuben Jack Dodd, Aiden’s big cousin who was born on 2nd May 2007 with “CHARGE” syndrome. Reuben has already had a lot of treatment including a heart bypass.Any donation no matter how big or small will be appreciated. There will be a donations bucket at the bowling club.
Thank you Michael, Laura Ann & Aidenxxx

how sweet of them to do this
Wow, what an amazing gesture of love and kindness... your incredibly supportive family obviously extends beyond your parents and brothers & sisters!
Hope all goes brilliantly on Monday.
lots of love, Polly
So wonderful...so very loving, understanding, caring and wonderful.
Isn't it amazing how some people just "get it"?
Love, Amy and Max
a lovely gesture from a lovely couple. Laura is a shining light the source of which emits from her mother and recently departed grandmother Catherine.
