Dear Reuben
For your birthday, we're giving you a sibling. I say giving, but as you know after what you've been through in the lab even before you were born and after what mummy's been through with years of surgeries and procedures, mummy doesn't just have babies. It's an absolute miracle. It's been a tough week for us darling because we've so wanted a baby to be a playmate for you and because mummy's of advanced maternal age as she's often told, these things don't happen too easy and the risks proved to be extremely high this week after some news from some Drs and nurses. But a lot of people said a lot of prayers or kept you in their thoughts. Positive thinking can, as you know, achieve great miracles. We've had 4 big wishes in the last year: for you to see your 1st birthday, for you to grow, for you to develop and for you to have a sibling in the making. We dreamed of your loving sibling long before you were born and your challenges only made us work harder against all the odds to achieve the dream. So we tried last September with your IVF frosties and sadly they went to heaven but are looking down on and blessing you now, sweet beautiful boy. And we tried again. We feel so confident in all your team members who help look after you so well and by doing so, make this step possible. You are going to be a big brother. Imagine that! Your little brother or sister, we're not telling you, is due on 17 November, mummy's 40th birthday. So, happy birthday darling.

Congratulations!!! This is wonderful news! I told Rob and we are both so happy for you all! I understand well that having babies isn't something you can take for granted, and I am so happy that you were able to get your wish. I hope that things continue to go well and you have a lovely "typical" pregnancy.
